Mel Anthony, the 87 year old race car driver and star of SMOKE, SAND AND RUBBER is going to bring his training wheel to the World Premiere Screening on Tuesday, May 31st at 7 PM. Test your strength with a steering wheel that approximates the force required to steer a midget race car.

Two weeks after I thought it was ready to go, SMOKE, SAND AND RUBBER is actually being printed. We should have copies of it, more FINDING PLAYLAND copies, and even copies of RENDER ME DEAD, at the May 31st screening.

I’m excited to announce that Bonnie Guitar, who wrote who wrote and recorded the song Midget Auto Blues in 1944, is writing and recording more music for the nearly completed, Smoke, Sand and Rubber. Here she is performing Mood Indigo last summer.
